THE
MINIATURE AND SMALL HORSE
Both
miniature and small horses appeal to people of all
ages, their temperament and small stature makes
for ease of handling, less impact on smaller acreages,
and less intimidating for young children.
The miniature horse at maturity must not exceed
8.2 hands in height which equals 34 inches or 86
cm.
A
miniature horse that does exceed this height is
known as a small horse and at maturity must not
exceed 9.2 hands in height which equals 38 inches
or 96.50 cm.

These
little equines make great eco friendly pets and when registered
can be shown in halter and harness classes. They can also
be used in performance events such as trail, hunter and
jumping classes, or you can have your own breeding stud, all
of which is a lot of fun.
Our first miniature horse arrived Christmas 2002 followed
closely by a second , then a third and before we knew
it we were hooked and now we run a small breeding stud.
Our aim is to breed for great conformation with a temperament
to match and a bit of colour thrown into the mix.
